○ Pointing XP SP3 Client to WSUS Server

 If for some reason a client with Windows XP SP3 is not receiving updates from WSUS when the server deploying them is part of W8k Server family, you might want to follow these steps:


1 - Edit Defult Workstation GPO:

2 - Add/Remove Templates:

3 -  Open Wuau.adm:

 4 - Navigate to windows components on computer configuration and select windows update:

5 - Specify Intranet Microsoft Update service location:

6 - Wait a minute or two to allow DCs to propagate GPO Changes and open a command prompt in client computer to update group policy definitions:

 gpupdate /force /target:computer

7- Check changes on the client side using rsop.msc
